Giving Back in Portland: How Our Team Supported Food Security Through Feed the Mass
At neuRealities, we believe that meaningful innovation extends beyond technology—it includes how we show up for the communities where our employees live and work. One way we put this belief into action is through our company-sponsored volunteer time off program, which empowers every team member to spend paid work hours contributing to causes they care about.
Recently, our Portland-based colleagues came together for a volunteer event with Feed the Mass, a nonprofit founded in 2016 with a mission to fight food insecurity and food waste at their source in Multnomah County. The organization provides nutritious meals to community partners, shelters, and neighbors facing food instability.
During a three-hour shift inside the Feed the Mass commercial kitchen, six neuRealities team members—Beau, Elena, House, Nathan, Ally, and Steve—packed more than 900 meals. These meals will be delivered to individuals and organizations across the Portland metro area, offering essential support to people facing hunger.
What stood out most was the teamwork and camaraderie that emerged throughout the afternoon. While the neuRealities team is used to collaborating on complex technology challenges, this was a chance to work side-by-side in a different way—focused on service, community, and impact.
“It felt great to come together outside of our day-to-day work and serve our neighbors,” shared one team member. “We’re grateful that neuRealities encourages us to spend time giving back.”
We’re proud of our Portland team for the contribution they made—and grateful for nonprofits like Feed the Mass who are creating lasting impact within their communities.
At neuRealities, we’re committed to supporting efforts that strengthen the places we call home. Through our volunteer time off program and future community initiatives, we’ll continue empowering our teams to make a difference—locally and together.
